Climate change in education

This module is designed to help and guide educators working with the topic of climate change in classrooms. It is based on exploring the psychology of climate change, introducing communication strategies that effectively present the topic of climate change and offering various approaches, perspectives and teaching strategies.

Goal of the course

The goal of this module is to help educators understand the complexity of climate change, the importance of choosing a good way to communicate it and building on many possible perspectives and worldviews.

This module is divided into 3 parts:
Part 1 – Psychology of climate change
Part 2 – Communicating climate change
Part 3 – Trends in climate change education

By the end of this module, learners are expected to:

Know the key aspects of the psychology of climate change

Identify the key components of communicating climate change

Explore some of the trends in climate change education

This module is not focused on the science of climate change – you can find sources providing information about processes, causes and consequences of climate change in the Introductory module.
